Using the data below you can help guide potential leverage spots in your brackets where the public is over/undervaluing certain teams or matchups. The “Odds to Win” column is an aggregate of multiple public ratings systems including Kenpom, Evan Miya and Nate Silver. You can compare the odds to win each round vs what the general public is currently picking via Yahoo’s Public Bracket Pick percentages. The gap between the odds to win and the Yahoo pick numbers is the raw “Leverage” column.
Effective Leverage tells you how much leverage you gain on the field when applying the raw leverage to their actual odds to advance in that round. Many low seeded teams (ie 12+) could offer good leverage but they still would have a very low probability of advancing. The Effective Leverage takes that into account.
